Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of Hepatitis B vaccine in the children born to HBsAg carrier mothers under the Hepatitis B vaccine immunity strategy of Beijing. Methods The supervising blood serum data of the children born to HBsAg carrier mothers in the years from 1999 to 2004 were collected. The positive rate of HBsAg,anti-HBs,antiHBc and the protective rate were analyzed. Results A total of 727 children born to HBsAg carrier mothers were vaccinated according to the Hepatitis B vaccine immunity strategy of Beijing. The positive rate of HBsAg and anti-HBs were 2.5% and 85.7% respectively. The positive rate of HBsAg among the children born to HBsAg and HBeAg carrier mothers was higher than the rate among the children born to HBsAg carrier mothers. The GMC of anti-HBs was 90.4 mIU per mL.The protective rate of Hepatitis B was 92.2%(95%CI:90.3%~94.1%).The protective rate among the children born to HBsAg carrier mothers was 93.4%(95%CI:92.3%~94.5%) and among the children born to HBsAg and HBeAg carrier mothers was 89.3%(95%CI:87.2%~91.4%).Conclusions The Hepatitis B vaccine immunity strategy of Beijing had good immunological and protective efficacy to HBV interruption of perinatal transmission.
