Abstract
In this paper, the degradation efficiency, effect factors and kinetics of dye Levafix Navy in UV/TiO2 suspension system were investigated. The results showed that UV/TiO2 has a high activity on degradation of dye Levafix Navy in solution, and the photodecomposition reaction of the dye was concurrent besides the photocatalytic degradation. The results also showed that the photocatalytic degradation of the dye was a first-order reaction apparently, with activation energy 27.8 kJ.mol-1 and preexponential factor 367 min-1.The degradation ratio of the dye was higher because of the strong adsorption of the dye on TiO2 surface, when the initial pH of dye solution being and below 3.
