Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the safety and therapeutic effects of the laparoscopic repair of inguinal hernia. Methods:Two hundred and sixteen patients (249 sides) with inguinal hernia were treated by laparoscopic herniorrhaphy through abdomen. There were 191 cases (207 sides) of indirect inguinal hernia and 25 cases (42 sides) of direct inguinal hernia. All of patients were performed with the transabdominal preperitoneal laparoscopic mesh repair of hernia (TAPP).After the sac of hernia was cut off,the mesh was covered on the internal ring of hernia. Results:All the operations were successful. The operation time was 70-120min (mean 90min).The mean postoperative hospital stay was 5d.162 cases were followed up.One patient had recurrence. The rate of recurrence was 0.46%.Conclusions:The laparoscopic inguinal herniorrhaphy has many advantages, such as quick recovery, better efficacy, minor lesion and lower recurrence rate.It is safe and effective, and worthy to be popularized.
