The relationship of the severity of the degeneration of lumbar disc and facet joints and the change of lumbar curvature

Objective To investigate the relationship of the severity of the degeneration of lumbar disc and facet joints and the change of lumbar curvature.Methods The severity of the degeneration of lumbar disc was evaluated by the modified Pfirrmann standard,and it was determined lumbar curvature straighten or not in the intervertebral saggital according to Seze method.And the grade of lumbar facet joints osteoarthritis was evaluated by Weishaupt standard.Result It was positive correlation between lumbar facet joint osteoarthritis imaging with lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration(P0.01).Between lumbar curvature straighten and normal,both the grade of lumbar facet joint osteoarthritis imaging and the severity of lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration were not significant difference(P0.05).It was related that the degeneration of each lumbar intervertebral disc and the change of lumbar curvature(P0.01).In the patients who were more apparent degeneration of lumbar disc,between lumbar curvature straighten and normal,the grade of lumbar facet joint osteoarthritis imaging were significant difference(P0.01).Conclusion The lumbar curvature,lumbar disc and facet joints make up three joints compomers to acting each other.Meanwhile,it is related that the degeneration of each lumbar intervertebral disc and the change of lumbar curvature.
