EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON APPLICATION OF COMPOUND SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE DISINFECTANT TO DISINFECTION OF DENTISTRY INSTRUMENTS

Abstract

Objective To study the efficacy of compound sodium hypochlorite disinfectant in disinfection of oral instruments in hospital.Method Simulated on-the-spot disinfection of oral instruments was used to observe the efficacy in inactivating HBsAg contaminating the instrument.Results Immersion in the compound sodium hypochlorite disinfectant solution containing available chlorine more than 500 mg/L for 10 min achieved 100% inactivation rate of HBsAg contaminating the surfaces of oral instruments.Continuous immersion of common oral instruments in the compound sodium hypochlorite disinfectant solution containing available chlorine 1000 mg/L for 10 days did not cause obvious corrosion.Conclusions The compound sodium hypochlorite disinfectant has efficacy in quick inactivation of HBsAg on oral instruments and essentially does not corrode the instruments.
