Abstract
Matching algorithm is one of the dominant technologies in a network intrusion detection system(NIDS) whose performance efficiency is directly influenced by it.This paper analyzes the most popular BM algorithm and the advanced one,Then a further advanced algorithm-BME is introduced.It combines the merits of both BMH and BMHS algorithm,which decreases the times of comparing and enhances the matching speed effectively.The result of the experiment shows that the algorithm available is able to accelerate the detecting velocity of NIDS.
