Abstract

The ecological footprint is a new method to estimate the level of natural resources utilization and the ecological carrying capacity of the nature. The results drawn by using this method in Shanxi show that the ecological footprint was 3.5717hm2,the ecological carrying capacity was 0.8210 hm2,the ecological deficit was 2.6387 hm2,which mean the EF'S demand in terms of human activities has already exceed the benchmark of regional ecological system's carrying capacity, and show that the man-land relationship is very intense.
