Abstract
Objective To compare the therapeutic effect of Herb-partitioned moxibustion on Shenque(CV 8) with farina-partitioned moxibustion in treating irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) of spleen deficiency type. Methods Forty patients with IBS of spleen deficiency type were randomized into a treatment group and a control group,20 in each. The treatment group was treated by herb-partitioned moxibustion, and the control was treated by farina-partitioned moxibustion. The therapeutic effects would be compared after treatment. Results Compared with pre-treatment,both groups had improvement in diarrhea scoring in short-term and follow-up stage(P0.01),and herb-partitioned moxibustion was better than farina-partitioned moxibustion in improving diarrhea symptom. Conclusion Navel therapy can effectively ameliorate diarrhea symptom and herb-partitioned moxibustion is better than farina-partitioned moxibustion.
