In order to have the optimized benefits,the paper had a comparison between the drilling and blasting heading and the roadhead- er heading.The main factors to select a heading method shall mainly be including the rock compressive strength,the support condition of the roadheader to the strata,transportation and assembling condition.The economics of the heading system were greatly dependent on the rock types,compressive strength and abrasion.The practical application proved conclusion of the paper was that each heading system could have a optimized operation under the certain application condition.
