Effects of Water Extract of Erigeron canadensis L. on Young Plant Growth

[Objective] The aim was to provide theoretical basis for illuminating the allelopathy of Erigeron canadensis L.[Method] The effects of different concentration water extract of Erigeron canadensis L.roots,stems and leaves on the young plant growth of nine plant species were studied.[Result] The water extract had obvious restraining activity to the plant height growth and root length growth of all experimemted young plants,and the restraining activity was significantly increased with the increase of water extract concentration of Erigeron canadensis L.;The restraint of the water extract to root length growth was exdently bigger than the one to plant height growth,and the restraining activity of its leaves water extract was strongest,the one of stems was next,but the one of roots was lowest.[Result]The study illuminated that the allelopathical matters was mostly in the leaves of Erigeron canadensis L..
