On the Folklore Subject through a Discussion on Folk and Lore

The definitions on folk and lore have long remained controversial in the history of folklore at home and abroad.The traditionally-defined folk and lore as well as their relations have resulted in the neglect of the folklore subject in the folklore studies for a long time.In fact,as a cultural complex,folklore consists of both folk and lore in a dialectical way.As creator and carrier of folklore items,folk as the folklore subject should receive particular attention,either academically or humanistically,from folklore scholars because this standpoint reveals their academic character and qualities as well as the significance and value of folklore as a discipline in the transitional period.
