Abstract

This paper analyses the spacial change characteristics of land use pattern by means of landscape pattern indices, change dynamic degree of land use and transformation matrix of land use based on two periodic land use coverages of 21 counties in Poyang lake region in 1985 and 2000.The results show that 6 land types including cultivated land, grass land, forest land, water area,built-up land and unused land become to assemble from disperse condition, while some land types prevail year by year in spacial scatter.Furthermore, all types become regular and continuous gradually. The transformation matrix and the flow direction analysis show that majority cultivated land has been converted into built-up land, forest land has been converted into grass land and cultivated land, grass land has been converted into forest land, water area has been converted into grass land, unused land has been converted into water area but built-up land hasn′t been converted into any type.
