Abstract

The toxicities of fipronil 5%EC and butene- fipronil 5%SC against the 3rd larvae of diamondback moth Plutella xylostella were tested and compared in the laboratory by leaf dipping method. The results showed that the toxicity of fipronil 5%SC was better than butene- fipronil 5%EC for killing the tested insect under controlled short time, but the corrected mortality of two pesticides had no significant difference and the LC50 or LC95 values of two pesticides have also similar level at concentration of 2 mg/L after treated for 72 h;the toxic speed of the agent with butene-fipronil was lower than the another. mortover, the fipronil is more efficient in controlling Plutella xylostella linne at low concentration.
