Abstract
Objective:To observe the expression of podoplanin in the lymphatic endothelial cells of rectal tissues for providing pathomorphism basis for the research of lymphatic metastasis.Methods:SP immunohistochemical(IHC)method was used to detect the podoplanin expressions in the experimental group and the control group.Results:LMVD of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group(P0.05);At the same time,LMVD of the lymphatic metastasis group was higher than that of the non-lymphatic metastasis group,which was of statistical difference(P0.05).Conclusion:Podoplanin specifically expresses in the lymphatic endothelial cells,which can distinguish microlymphatic vessels from capillaries.The high expression of podoplanin in rectal tissues and tissues adjacent to cancer may suggest that the lymphatic metastasis rectal cancer may be related to the increase of the number of lymphatic vessels.
