Abstract
The Programmable Logic Device(PLD) is a general large scale integrated circuit programmed by users.Based on the development of PLD,basic structure, function superiority and application field of Complex Programmable Logic Device and Field Programmable Gate Array, two development branches from the PLD,are analyzed and compared in detail in this paper. The difference between CPLD and FPGA is also pointed out based on their structure and definition.Meanwhile, corresponding selective methods for CPLD and FPGA are given according to different technique requirement and design environment. The latest research hotspot and future development tendency are finally generalized.
