Abstract
To study the kidney transplantation in the patients with polycystic kidney associated with uremia. Methods A follow-up after kidney was performed on 30 cases of polycystic kidney. The survival rate and living quality were compared. Results The 3 and 5 year survival rate after kidney transplantation in the patients with resection of polycystic kidney was 100 % and 70 % , while that in those without resection of polycystic kidney was 70 % and 50 % respectively. The living quality in the patients with resection of polycystic kidneys was not improved, but those with resection of polycystic kidneys could recover to normal work. Conclusion For the patients with polycystic kidney associated with uremia, the polycystic kidney should be routinely resected before kidney transplantation to improve the living quality and increase of 3- and 5-year survival rate.
