Abstract
The present paper gives an overview of the application of sex pheromone in the control of the rice stem borer, Chilo suppressalis (Walker), including population monitoring, mass trapping, mating disruption, influencing factors and assessing the effectiveness of control. Prospects for future research are also mentioned.
