Abstract
The study of public service advertisements can advance the development of the society and improve the social environment. Based on the theory of multimodal metaphor by Forceville,the paper explores the phenomena of multimodal metaphor from three perspectives in creating water protection advertisements —the causes of water damage,water importance and the consequences of polluted water in hope of inspiring water protection advertisements.
