Abstract
The Late Permian strata of Shaiwa section can be divided into four parts according to lithostratigraphy and biostratigraphy. One bivalve zone ( Claraia primitiva Hunanopecten exilis zone) and two brachiopod zones ( Neochonetes substrophomenoides Orthothetina ruber zone, Acosarina dorsisulcata Crurithyris speciosa zone) were set up; Wuchiapingian and Changhsingian were separated for the first time from this section based on conodonts, bivalves and brachiopods.
