A Study of the Bo People and the Gu People along the Ancient Dian-Bo Road

The Bo people is an important ethnic group.The confirmation of the Bo people is the key to solving the problems concerning the migration of the ethnic groups in southwest China and in Southeast Asia,the development of the Sino-Tibetan languages and the formation of the ancient Dian-Bo Road and the ancient Chama Road.There were quite a few records of the Bo people in the history books written before and in the Han dynasty but no record in the books written in the Wei and Jin dynasty,which many scholars have tried to explain.Using the related data of languages,folk customs,history books,ethnology and physical anthropology,the paper studies the whereabouts of the Bo people and especially their relations with the Gu people in Qiubei and the Yis and the Bais in Yunnan Province.
