Analyzing the Plain Theory of Mei Yao-chen's Poetic Comments——Playing with Sentiment,Plainness with Profound Beauty

Mei Yaochen plays the role of an initiator in the history of Song Dynasty's poetry.He created Song Dynasty's poetic style with his Plain Theory.He reflected the sufferings of the working people and satirized the current malady by writing poems.Besides,he preferred the prosaism to the ornateness.So he stated the style of Song Poem was simple and profound.In the thesis,I illustrate Mei's Plain Theory.The view has undergone two states.Meanwhile,there are determinants forming the theory: hard experience, skilled technique,the influence of Buddhism and Taoism.In the end,I try to estimate the historical value of his Plain Theory.
