Slow Sand Filtration for Rainwater Treatment

This paper provides a slow sand filtration structure for rainwater treatment,which is embedded in the water storage tanks of rainwater catchment for rural water supply.This in-tank slow sand filter can be constructed easily in low-cost with local materials and is simple in use and maintenance.Experimental results show that water quality in the rainwater tanks is improved with the slow sand filter.
