Abstract

In a [HT5SS]4×3 latin square experiment design, four adult sika deer fitted with rumen fistulas were fed with three supplement feeds with different energy levels. The pH value, concentrations of NH 3 N,TCA P recipitated protein and total VFA in the rumen were determined. The dynamic variations of the four metabolic parameters and proportions of VFA were measured respectively. The main experimental results were as follows: The pH value and NH 3 N,TVFA concentrations of rumen were not significantly influenced by dietary energy levels( P 0 05);The dietary energy levels had a marked effect on the TCA P concentration in the rumen and the feed intake of silage for deer( P 0 01).The TCA P concentration increased with dietary energy level increase; The results of VFA analyses indicated that the proportions of VFA varied in different groups.
