Effect of Thymosin α1 on Cell Immune Functions in COPD Patients

Objective To study the effect of thymosin α1 on cellular immune function of COPD patients.Methods 60 cases of COPD patients were divided into control group and treatment group,30 patients in each group.Control group received conventional treatment;Patients in the treatment group were treated with conventional treatment plus thymosinα1,2 times per week for 4 weeks.Results In treatment group after treatment by thymosinα1,CD4+,and CD4+/CD8+ increased and CD8+ decreased,there were statistical differences between before and after treatment(P0.01);PaO2 and FEV1% increased significantly,PaCO2 decreased significantly after treatment,there were statistical differences between treatment group and control group after treatment(P0.01).Conclusion Thymosin enhances chronic obstructive pulmonary disease cell immunity and can reduce the frequency of acute attacks.
