Abstract
The title complex [Co(O2CC6HF4)2(Phen)2] was synthesized by the reaction of tetrafluoroterephthalic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline monohydrate with cobalt (Ⅱ) acetate tetrahydrate in methanol and water solution. The complex was characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, thermogravimetric analysis, cyclic voltammetry, and X-ray single crystal structure analysis. This complex crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c, with a= 1.371 9(8) nm, b=1.595 6(10) nm, c=1.584 9(10) nm, β=106.327(10)° and Z=4. Co(Ⅱ) ion has a distorted octahedral geometry coordinated by two O atoms from two 2,3,5,6-tetrafluorobenzoate and four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline molecules. The independent components [Co(O2CC6HF4)2(Phen)2] are connected by two kinds of hydrogen bonds (C-H…F and C-H…O ) to form a three-dimensional supramolecular network. CCDC: 714682.
