Abstract

Objective To explore the surgical methods and clinical effect of humeral intercondylar fractures. Methods 60 patients who were diagnosed as humeral intercondylar fractures in our hospital from June 2007 to June 2008 were randomly divided into group A and group B(n=30),group A was treated with Y-shaped plate fixation, while group B was treated with double plate fixation, two groups were compared in fixation conditions and the recovery of elbow function. Results Both groups were followed up from 12 to 36 months. The fixation failure rate of group A was 13.3%(4/30) that was significantly higher than that of group B,3.3%(1/30),P 0.05.The excellent el-bow function rate of group A was 83.3%(25/30),while group B was 86.7%(26/30),there was no significant difference,P 0.05.The elbow joint activity of two groups had no significant difference,P 0.05.Conclusion Y shaped plate and double plate fixation in treating humer-al intercondylar fractures are the good methods, but the double plate fixation has lower incidence of loosening,so it is worth promoting.
