Cytogenetic analysis in 1112 couples with abnormal pregnancy

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the relationship between Abnormal pregnancy and abnormal karyotypes.Methods: The chromosomal karyotypes of peripheral lymphocytes were collected.In 1112 couples with abnormal pregnancy such as abortion,still birth,abnormal fetus and so on.Results: 94 abnormal karyotypes were found,the rate of abnormal karyotypes was 4.23%.55 cases were balance translocation(including 17 cases robertsonian translocation),30 cases were inversion,other 9 cases were other abnormal karyotypes.Conclusion: The abnormality of chromosome is one of reasons of abnormal pregnancy,thus,chromosome examination is necessary for couples with abnormal pregnancy.
