Abstract
The transmitting characteristics of Bursaphelenchus xylophilus by adults Monochamus alternatus were investigated based on laboratory feeding. To examine the relationship between number of transmitted Bursaphelenchus xylophilus and host species,two feeding projects were tested,one was fed on branches from one species,the other on mixture branches from five species.The results showed that Bursaphelenchus xylophilus were randomly transmitted and the number of transmitted nematodes had no relationship with host species.The number of transmitted nematodes had no significant difference among test duration (2 days each).No obvious correlation was found between the number of transmitted nematodes and intake feeds.The peak of transmitted nematodes appeared around 20 days after adults left host tree.
