Abstract
Objective:To detect the serum insulin like growth factor-1(IGF-1) level in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and investigate its clinical significance. Methods:The patient group with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and the normal control group were designed. The serum IGF-1 level was determined by chemiluminescence assay in 65 esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients and 30 normal subjects. Results:The level of IGF-1 of patients was(1 082.29±301.24) ng/ml which was higher than that of the normal control group (195.35±48.21) ng/ml(P0.01).And the level of IGF-1 also elevated as the clinical pathological tumor stages(P0.05).Conclusions:The serum level of IGF-1 may become one of the serum markers for diagnosis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and judgement of the prognosis.
