Clinical observation of traditional Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture in the treatment of cerebral infarction

Objective To observe the curative effects of traditional Chinese medicine represented by tonifying Qi(yiqi),invigorating blood circulation(huoxue) and promoting coronary circulation(tongmai), combined with acupuncture in the treatment of cerebral infarction. Methods 36 patients with cerebral infarction were selected and randomly assigned to observation group and control group, with 18 in each group. The observation group was received treatment of tradition Chinese medicine of yiqi and tongmai. Herbs such as angelica sinensis(danggui),codonopsis pilosula(dangshen),astragalus membranaceus(huangqi) and reaoma lactiflora(Chishao),combined with acupuncture,were applied in treating cerebral infarction.The control group was received the treatment of Western medicine. ResultsThe total effective rate in observation group was 83.8%,while that in control group was only 50.0%. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P 0.05).In the aspect of clinical adverse effects, observation group was better than control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05). Conclusion Compared with Western medicine in treating cerebral infarction, traditional Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture has a better effect, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
