Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effects of acupuncture on the cerebral glucose metabolism of multiple cerebral infarction patients. Methods: 16 patients with multiple cerebral infarction were randomly divided into two groups,8 cases in each group;patients in the control group were treated by Aspirin, nifedipine GITS,diformin tablet and glipizide for antiplatelet, antihypertension and glucose-decreasing,and patients in the treatment group are treated with acupuncture as well as the same treatment of the control group. The glucose metabolism decreased lesion number in repeated stroke patients was observed after 14 days. Results: The difference of glucose metabolism decreased lesion number between the two groups was significant(P0.05).Conclusion: Acupuncture might activate the cerebral area bilaterally and reconstruct its function.
