Abstract
To make the military aircrafts obtain the new capabilities known as area navigation(RNAV),the potentialities of Tactical Air Navigation System(TACAN) for RNAV were studied.A workable solution based on Newton-iterative method was presented for position estimation as well as real-time assessment of actual navigation performance(ANP).The simulation demonstrated the feasibility of the solution for the engineering application.
