Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the prevalence and molecular epidemiology of norovirus infection in outpatients with diarrhea. METHODS The clinic data and fecol samples were collected from Apr.2009 to Apr.2010.The norovirus and genotype were detected by RT-PCR. RESULTS Among 214 outpatients with diarrhea,16.8% were infected with norovirus.Of the norovirus positive patients,19.4% were found having other disease such as hypertension, diabetes etc.Vomiting, nausea, low fever and watery stool were the main clinical symptoms.Sporadic cases occurred all the year round, but the peak was found during period of winter and spring(58.3%).The main genotype was GII. CONCLUSION Norovirus infection is common in the outpatients with diarrhea, and main genotype belong to GII group.
