Abstract

Objective To study the theory of mind in children with asperger syndrome(AS).Methods Japanese tests and tools of “theory of mind” (including expression understanding test and false belief tests) were administrated to the children with asperger syndrome and normal children. Results In the expression understanding test,the thruput in the AS young children group(59%) was lower than that in the normal young children group(85%); in the false belief tests,the thruput in the AS group was lower than that in the normal control group. Conclusion Children with asperger syndrome may have impairment in “theory of mind”.
