Abstract

Different metal salts are loaded on two kinds of strong acid cation resin as a catalyst for esterification. The effects of the kind of metal salts, the metal salt quantity, loading temperature, loading time on the activity of catalyst for esterification are studied. Using the prepared catalyst for esterification reaction of ethyl alcohol and acetic acid, the percent conversion of acetic acid is about 69% in one hour as the catalyst quantity equal to 10% acetic acid quantity in the reaction system.
