Application of GIS technology to comprehensive management of surface subsidence area due to underground coal mining

Abstract

In order to ensure the sustainable development of the ecologic environment and area economy in the subsidence area due to underground coal mining,base on the importance of the comprehensive management for the subsidence land in the subsidence area due to mining,the paper introduced the present mining subsidence status in China and analyzed the harms occurred from the mining subsidence and the disadvantages of the subsidence control.In combined with the cases,the ARCGIS software in the GIS new technology was applied to set up the management platform of the subsidence area.The drawings and information,and the soil quality and data of the subsidence area were applied to set up the improved space and attribute data bank.The powerful function of the ARCGIS software was applied to the linking between the space date and the attribute data of the subsidence area in order to have an on time update of the data for the subsidence area and to have an on time check and management of the soil and attribute information of the subsidence area.The results showed that the application of the powerful input/output function,search function and analysis function in the GIS new technology platform could analyze and manage the soil in the subsidence area,the geology of the subsidence and reclamation.
