Abstract
Objective To observe the changes of plasma insulin in patient with impaired fasting glucose(IFG)or impaired glucose tolerance(IGT).Methods 50 cases with normal glucose tolerance(NGT),40 cases with IFG and 80 cases with IGT were given 75 gram oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT)?Plasma glucose was measured by oxidase method, fasting and 2h insulin were measured by radio immunity. Results Fasting glucose?fasting insulin and insulin sensitive index in IFG group or IGT group were significantly higher than those in NGT group( P 0.05 or P 0.01),insulin sensitive index was no different between IFG group and IGT group( P 0.05).Conclusion Insulin resistance has already existed in the stage of IFG or IGT,and there is no significant different at the degree of insulin resistant,IFG or IGT should be treated early.
