Abstract
Objective To understand the condition of dietary related behavior among urban adolescents in Foshan City.Methods A questionnaire investigation was performed on adolescent health related behavior among 3 844 students selected from 12 schools(including middle schools,vocational middle schools and universities) in urban area of Foshan.Results Only 27.5% of students drank milk or soymilk 5 days or more every week.About 34% of college students and 20.7% of vocational middle school students did not have breakfast more than 2 days a week,16.5% of students drank beverage once or more everyday,21.5% ate sweet food once or more everyday,5.5% ate Western fast-food 3 days or more every week,and 42.6% were food preferences.The unhealthy dietary behavior was relatively obvious among lower grade students.A total of 34.6% of students were self-inductance overweight,but only 18.6% did physical exercises to control their weight.There were many kinds of unhealthy weight control behavior among students,and it was more obvious in girls. Conclusions Both unhealthy dietary behavior and unhealthy weight control behavior were coexistent among urban adolescents.It is necessary to ally three sections such as school,family and community to draw up interventions to improve the situation.
