On Wang Ji's Contribution to the Development of Poetry in Early Tang Dynasty

Abstract
When th gorgeous style of poems which was in persuit of flowery lyrics prevailed in the circle of poets in early Tang Dynasty,Wang Ji flew his own colors with his pastorates to depict his hermit life and his personal disposition.His poems carried on Tao Yuanming's and Ruan Ji's style of pastorals and were the forerunner of poems written by Chen Zi'ang and Zhang Jiuling.The formatin,maturity and perfection,especially the healthy development of pent a syllabic quatrain also owe much to his contribution.
