The dynamical changes and clinical significances of the serum soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 and soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 levels in the patients with acute ischemic cerebrovascular diseases

Abstract

Objective:To explore the dynamical change regularities and significances of the serum soluble intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (sICAM 1) and soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule 1(sVCAM 1) levels of the patients with acute cerebral ischemic attack. Methods:The sICAM 1 and sVCAM 1 were measured using ELISA at the 1st day,2nd day and 5th day after onset, respectively. At the same time,the blood glucose was measured at the 2nd day. Results:The serum sICAM 1 and sVCAM 1 concentrations increased within 24 hours after onset (266.28 ± 62.16ng/ml 、687.19 ± 356.76ng/ml) ; They increased obviously in the 2nd day (285.77±68.43ng/ml、990.79±368.36ng/ml) and declined gradually in the 5th day (263.60±87.82ng/ml、977.70±384.16ng/ml). But they were still higher than that in Control group. The changes of the concentrations of the blood glucose and sICAM 1 in the 2nd day after onset indicated that both of them were of positive linear correlation. Conclusion:The increase of the serum sICAM 1 and sVCAM 1 concerntrations of the patients with cerebral ischemia demonstrated ICAM 1 and VCAM 1 may involve in the processes of cerebral isehemic injury.
