The Influence of Linguistics Theories on Foreign Language

Abstract

Linguistics and foreign language teaching are inherently connected.Linguistics is the study of the language,and foreign language teaching helps learners master certain language.Though they focus on different perspectives,they all work for the language.English as a language,English teaching needs the guide of linguistics theories.Linguistics offers theories and principles for foreign language teaching which relies on;meanwhile,the practice of foreign language teaching provides more materials and cases to the study of linguistics theories.Both of them depend on each other,support and develop together.Among the branches of Linguistics,social linguistics,pragmatics,applied linguistics and psychological linguistics have the great influence on foreign language teaching.
