Abstract

The pot experiment was used to study the effects of different light intensity on the growth, chlorophyl content, photosynthetic and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters of flue-cured tobacco after 40 days of transplanting. The results indicated that low light density increased the plant height, ratio of length to breadth of leaf, chlorophyl content and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters such as Fv/Fm,¢PSⅡ,qP and qN,but decreased the stem girth, leaf number, chl a/b,net photosynthesis rate(Pn) and stomatal conductance(Gs).Shading would increase the photochemical efficiency of PSⅡ and reduce the photoinhibition.
