Abstract

To explore the accumulation pattern of fatty acids and the correlations during rape seed development, Mianyou88,a low erucic acid rapeseed cultivar, and Mianyou 309,a high erucic acid rapeseed cultivar, were used as the materials. The changes of fatty acids contents and the activities of enzymes were measured on the 10th day,15th day,20th day,25th day,30th day,40th day,45th day and 50th day after flowering. The results showed that the accumulation patterns of palmitic acids, linoleic acids, linolenic acids of high and low erucic acid rapeseed cultivars were basically the same, but the patterns of oleic acids, eicosenoic acids and erucic acids varied. The correlation analysis revealed that palmitic acid content was negatively correlated to oleic acid content, eicosenoic acid content and erucic acid content, and was significantly positively correlated to linolenic acid content. In the high erucic acid cultivar, the oleic acid had little correlation with linoleic acid and linolenic acid. In the low erucic acid cultivar, the oleic acid had high correlations with linoleic acid and linolenic acid. The results indicated that oleic acid was at the intersection of the fatty acid extension system and the desaturation system.
