Abstract
The need for the performance improvement of devices with embedded processors always contradicts the requirement in reducing their power consumption. It is not easy to fulfill the need to reduce the power consumption simply using the better power consumption design due to the increasing of computation complexity and clock speed of the high performance processor. This paper introduces power management techniques used by Blackfin Digital Signal Processor(DSP) products as being applied to managing the power consumption. As a result,we can optimize the relationship between its performance and power consumption in specific embedded applications, which in turn, lends to a solution to the power consumption of embedded systems.
