Abstract

Since the new century, the dispute is growing between essentialism and anti-essentialism in pedagogy in China. However,if we read carefully the texts of both of them,we could find easily that many common views are gradually formed while there are some surface differences between them. That being so we should give up either-or dichotomy of thinking in order to use non-essentialism to take place of anti-essentialism along the road essentialism going with non-essentialism and interdependence and working together.
