Abstract
The indoor experiment for remodeling weak expansive soil has been carried out by controlling the initial water content and dry weight density aiming at making clear if the expansive soil in Jiaozuo can act as the filling materials paper. The research results indicate that with the increase of dry weight density, the shear resistant strength of soilmass increases, compressibility reduces and the expansion increases;Wiith the increase of initial water content, the shear resistant strenght decreases, the compressibility increases and dilatability reduces. In conclusion, the possibility of the non-expansive soil covering and mixing with non-expansive soil and cement modifying the weak expansive soil has been discussed.
