Abstract

This paper deals with the descriptions of two new genera and five new species of Ci-cadellidae, these are allied to the genus Thaia Ghauri 1962. All specimens are collectedfrom China and all type specimens are deposited in Anhui Agricultural College.Thaia rubiginosa, sp. nov. (fig. 1)This species resembles Thaia subrufa(Motschoulsky), but the second spical cellof forewing obviously broadened at apex, processes of aedeagus relatively broader, analprocess U-form, and the central ridge on the vii sternum of female much more extended.Length: , 3.5 mm, 3.7 mm.Holotype and allotype, Fujian: Jianyang (12. X. 1978); paratypes 6464, Henan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Fujian,Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan.Parathaia,gen. nov. This genus differs from Thaia Ghauri mainly in the head, including eyes, a littlenarrower than posterior margin of pronotum, frons relatively longer (longer thanbroad, about 2: 1), male pygofers with distinct caudoventral processes, subgenital platewithout a developed process, structure of the aedeagus distinctive, and the central ridge on the vii sternum of female not reaching hind margin.Type-species: Parathaia bimaculata, sp. nov.Parathaia bimaculata, sp. nov. (fig. 2)This species can readily be distinguished from other species in the Thaia groupby the scutellum with two large black spots on basal angles and by the genitalia struc-ture of the male.Length: , 3.2 mm,3.3 mm.Holotype, allotape and paratypes 3 3, Jiangxi: Lushan, 1100M (23.VIII. 1964).Parathaia macra, sp. nov. (fig. 3)This species somewhat resembles Parathaia bimacutata Kuoh, especially in the scu-tellum with two black spots, hut is easily distinguished by the bigger size, the head, thorax and abdomen entirely pale lutescens, and by the structure of the male genitalia.Length: 4.5 mm.Holotype and paratype 22, Anhui: Jingxian (1. VI. 1975).Parathaia infumata, sp. nov. (fig. 4)This species can readily be distinguished from other species in the genus by theforewing with two fumose stripes, one running between M and claval vein, the otherbetween the claval suture and claval vein; by the coloring and by the structure ofthe male genitalia.Length, 3.35 mm.Holotype, Jiangxi: Lushan, 1100 M (23. VIII. 1964).Pseudothaia,gen. nov. This genus is allied to Thaia Ghauri and Parathaia Kuoh, but is easily distinguishedby the head, including eyes, a little wider than posterior margin of pronotum, poste-rior lateral margins of pronotum straight, male style very long and narrow, without asmall lateral projection on the outer surface in the middle of the posterior part, andby the aedeagus.Type-species: Pseudothaia striata, sp. nov.Pseudothaia striata, sp. nov. (fig. 5)This species differs from all other species in the group by the head wider thanthan posterior margin of pronotm, lateral areas of frons distinctly transversely stria-ted and by the distinctive genitalia.Length:3.3 mm.Holotype, Hainan Island (15. IX. 1976).
