Modern Literature Studies in the Century-old Chinese Literature

Century_old Chinese both a concept of time and of literary history with specific significance, pictures in its entirety the evolution of Chinese literature from tradition to modernity. As it is no easy work to study modern literature in the context of the century_old Chinese literature, there have been few satisfactory works on literary history except A General History of Century_old Chinese Literature. Therefore, priority should be given to renewing the concept of literary history and of methodology in the compilation of new literature history. In addition, some other key issues such as the relationship between popularization and improvement, the style of study, etc, should be duly attended to.
