Abstract
Objective: To investigate the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP-2) and its correlation with metastasis and prognosis in breast cancer.Methods: The expressions of VEGF and MMP-2 were detected by immunohistochemistry in breast cancer patients(40 cases of invasive breast cancer,20 cases of breast cancer in situ) and normal breast tissue 20 cases(control group),the relationship between the expression of VEGF,MMP-2 and breast infiltration was analyzed.Results: The positive expression rates of VEGF and MMP-2 were higher in breast cancer tissue than those in(control group)(P0.05).There was significant difference in expression of VEGF and MMP-2 among subgroups according to cell differentiation,lymph node metastasis,different expression of Cerb-2(P0.05).Conclusion: Overexpression of VEGF and MMP-2 could act as a reference to evaluate the metastasis and unfavourable prognosis of breast cancer.
