A clinical study on the combination block therapy for knee osteoarthritis

Abstract

Objective: To assess the treatment effect of combination block therapy on knee osteoarthritis. Method: The articular space of knee osteoarthritis of 70 pain clinic patients were injected with sodium hyaluronate (HA) 2ml once a week. Five injections were as one course. The pain spots of surrounding soft tissue of the knee joint were injected with 1% lidocaine, diprospan 7mg(arthalgyl 0.9g), vitamin B 12 0.5mg at the same time. Observing the score of visual analogue scale(VAS) and joint motion function pretherapy and posttherapy. Result: After one course, the pain of the knee joint were obviously remitted. The knee joint motion function obtain striking amelioration. The total effectiveness rate was 98.3%. No side effect was observed. Conclusion: The combination block therapy for knee osteoarthritis has striking effect and without serious side effects. It is a safe and effective treatment for the knee osteoarthritis.
